WHAT REMAINS
11/11 - 20/11
For four years, I have been photographing the Donbas while reporting from the war in Ukraine.
The Donbas as it once was is disappearing. Villages are abandoned, buildings reduced to rubble, and landscapes transformed into front lines. Many of the places in these photographs have since been destroyed or are now under Russian occupation. Others have changed beyond recognition.
The war itself has changed too. What began as a war of artillery and manoeuvre has evolved into one in which drones observe almost every movement. The battlefield has become more transparent, faster and harder to escape.
This exhibition is also about memory. Each photograph preserves a place, a moment, or a reality that may no longer exist.
WHAT REMAINS is about what war destroys, and what photography can preserve.
A memory the war cannot erase.

IssI Project is a new art initiative for the Quartier des Quais, located Boulevard de Dixmude 38, in what has been a bank. Artist Si Bollé wants to offer the area a shining and colourful exhibitions.
A white cube space houses huger paintings with exploding colours in a whirlwind of movement. The mysterious and darker space of the broken up bank vault offers regularly sweet snacks painted artworks.

IssI kicks-off Downtown Brussels Art with artist Bollé
For just one week IssI Project has the privilege to show some amazing artworks of the artist's duo Feipel & Bechameil.
The artists represented Luxembourg at the 54th. Venice Bienale in 2011 and have since exhibited internationally.
During two weekends, Si Bollé will go in dialogue with them on the opening of Downtown Brussels Art.
The vernissage will be held on Saturday 24the May at 11 A. M. in the presence of the artists. Please join us.
